AUSTIN DOLL COLLECTORS SOCIETY

The Austin Doll Collectors Society is an organization of antique, vintage, and modern doll collectors, dealers, and artisans. We meet on the second Sunday of each month and our meetings are fun and educational. We begin with refreshments and socializing, and, following our brief business meeting, there is a special doll-related program and "show and tell." The Austin Doll Collectors Society is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.

June 6, 2016, Meeting

This month's program was on baby dolls, so these little darlings decorated the refreshments table.

Member Beverly Evans gave the program on this history of baby dolls.

As part of the program, she persuaded members to lend her pictures of themselves as infants and created a cute contest in which members tried to match the baby picture with the adult.

Beverly and other members brought a bevy of beautiful baby dolls to share.  There were antique babies. . . .

vintage babies. . . .

and modern dolls.

There were also baby dolls created by some of our talented members.  This big beautiful bisque doll was made and dressed by Mary McKenzie.

Faydra Jones made this little cloth cutie.

A basket of itty-bitty bisque babes, some old and some modern reproductions.

Members shared stories about some of their favorite baby dolls.
