AUSTIN DOLL COLLECTORS SOCIETY

The Austin Doll Collectors Society is an organization of antique, vintage, and modern doll collectors, dealers, and artisans. We meet on the second Sunday of each month and our meetings are fun and educational. We begin with refreshments and socializing, and, following our brief business meeting, there is a special doll-related program and "show and tell." The Austin Doll Collectors Society is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.

May 7, 2012, Meeting

Members were greeted by this colorful and charming Maypole.

After the business meeting, Sharon Weintraub did a program on German mermaid figurines.

This marvelous mermaid by William Goebel was designed to cling to the side of an aquarium.

Catherine Wright told members about attending Kewpiesta, an annual convention of the International Rose O'Neill Club (IROC) in Branson, Missouri, which took place this year from April 18th-22nd. She displayed many of her Kewpie dolls and Kewpiesta souvenirs.

This cute little celluloid girl has a secret. . . .

when she is turned around, she becomes a Kewpie doll!
