AUSTIN DOLL COLLECTORS SOCIETY

The Austin Doll Collectors Society is an organization of antique, vintage, and modern doll collectors, dealers, and artisans. We meet on the second Sunday of each month and our meetings are fun and educational. We begin with refreshments and socializing, and, following our brief business meeting, there is a special doll-related program and "show and tell." The Austin Doll Collectors Society is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.

39th Annual Doll Show, October 18, 2014

The day was bright and clear, a perfect day for our doll show.

We had a very regal welcoming committee to greet our vendors and shoppers.

Dealers setting up before the show.

Our charity booth was filled with a wide variety of donated dolls and toys, the proceeds to go to local charities.

The two sales rooms were also filled with dolls of every type, from antique. . . .

to vintage. . . .

to collectible. . . .

to artistic.

Some dolls were dressed for trick and treating,

while others were ready to cheer on the local football team.

There were baskets of babies.

In fact, there were dolls for every budget!

Let the shopping begin!

A big thanks to all our wonderful vendors and show attendees!

October 6, 2014, Meeting

The theme for the October meeting was Halloween (of course!).

Member Jes Hawkins, who gave this month's program, donned appropriate attire for her talk.

Her program was a wide-ranging talk on Halloween customs, intertwined with her own childhood memories, and she brought a variety of Halloween related toys and decorations.

This gorgeous gourd gal was a door prize generously offered by Jes.

The lucky winner admires her pulchritudinous pumpkin!

Other members brought Halloween related dolls and decorations to share.

Member and master doll artist Mary McKenzie shares her latest prize-winning creations.

Mary's extraordinary interpretation of Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan from the American classic novel, "The Great Gatsby."
