AUSTIN DOLL COLLECTORS SOCIETY

The Austin Doll Collectors Society is an organization of antique, vintage, and modern doll collectors, dealers, and artisans. We meet on the second Sunday of each month and our meetings are fun and educational. We begin with refreshments and socializing, and, following our brief business meeting, there is a special doll-related program and "show and tell." The Austin Doll Collectors Society is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.

February 6, 2012, Meeting

Our February meeting was a special treat, as the members gathered for a delightful high tea.

The centerpiece at each table was a different adorable plush animal in tea-time best.

Each place setting had a different lovely vintage tea cup and saucer and a special "friendship spoon."  Lucky members were able to take home their tea cups as souvenirs at evening's end.

Many members dressed for the occasion.

Two of our hostesses, Ann Campbell and Jean Cassel.

The tasty tea-time treats included traditional dainty sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, lemon curd, and a variety of other delicious sweets.

Tea is served!

Many members brought dolls all dressed up for tea or Valentine's Day.

Lulu, an Armand Marseille flapper lady, assesses the Valentine offerings from her many suitors.

A miniature tea table adds a decorative touch.

The lucky winner of the door prize!

Time for a short business meeting.

Afterward, members told the club about the dolls they had bought.
